Co-Director of Ex-Import, Suzette Barlin’s industry experience has brought invaluable kudos and knowledge to the company. Suzette began her own slimming and weight loss Day Spa Centre (Electro-Trim) in the ACT – one of the first of its kind in Australia (1977 – 1985). It was a huge success. Suzette’s passion for the industry then lead to her founding the GCTA – Gold Coast Training Academy which, to this day, is still providing some of Australia’s most respected and qualified Aesthetician, training 1000′s of beauty therapists. From 1990- 94, Suzette was elected as President of the APAA (Association of Professional Aestheticians Australia) which has been a flag ship association for the beauty industry in Australia.
Suzette’s industry experience saw her co-write the first competency-based training qualifications for the Australian Beauty Industry, used nation wide in TAFE and beauty colleges. She went on to write the Bachelor of Applied Health Science in Aesthetics in conjunction with New England University and Dr Judy Harris. This was ground breaking and the first time in the world a Beauty Therapy Diploma could be articulated into a university degree.

MODELS: We follow a program structure where students in this course will work-on-each-other during the afternoon’s practical element of the hands-on training. Should you have lash extensions on, be contraindicated or you have had a lash lift in the last the last 8 weeks then we would need to request that you bring a model. You may also be required to arrange a model if there is an odd number of students booked.
